Avengers: Fantasy Footballs Mightiest Heroes

Image
This article better explains the requirements and goals of the Fantasy Avengers weekly article Captain America Steve Rogers AKA Captain America is the unquestioned leader of the Avengers. Even though Cap is not the strongest member of the team, without him the Avengers would not be able to capitalize on all of their potential. Just like with the avengers a football team can only be as good as its quarterback. The QB who makes this designation may not be the best player on his team, but it is someone I believe can lead his team to fantasy success. From a ranking standpoint I will choose QBs who are outside the top 15 who I believe will finish inside the top 10. Hulk On the surface Bruce Banner is just a normal guy who couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag, but if you get him angry he turns into the Incredible Hulk. While Banner is very valuable to the Avengers on a week to week basis, they really need the Hulk when it comes to stopping the world's toughest foes. As a fantasy fo...

Week 8 Fantasy Avengers

Image
Last week the Fantasy Avengers finally took home a win! Joe Burrow finished as the quarterback four on the week, after throwing for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. He made his fantasy day even sweeter by adding 34 rushing yards on the ground, while also adding a rushing touchdown. One of the biggest hits of the week was Chase Edmonds. In last weeks thriller versus the Seahawks, Edmonds rushed the ball only 5 times for 58 yards, but his real Hulking-out moment came in the receiving game after hauling in 7 catches for 87 yards. Although he was unable to smash the ball into the end-zone, he did quite enough to finish as the running back 8 on the week. Now that Drake is out of the picture with an ankle injury, I won't be able to pick Edmonds as the Hulk or even as Thor because I expect him to be a top 15 running back week in and week out. Lastly, my Iron man pick of the week, Amari Cooper had a solid showing. Although he didn't finish inside of the top 15 he still came through wi...

Week 7 Fantasy Avengers

Week 7 is upon us, and fantasy football is becoming a bit more predictable. With 6 weeks of data we now know which teams to target for specific match-ups and which ones to avoid. We know that Saints are not the best at guarding the tight-end, and that you should start all of your players versus the Cowboys putrid defense. We also know that the Steelers rush defense is the real deal and that the Chicago defense is here to stay. While we can do all the research and make the right call on paper, fantasy football is still a cruel mistress, who can make you regret the most chalked up start. The week 6 fantasy avengers are a testament to how chaotic fantasy is, as the Avengers went 0-4 in all of their match-ups. I hope that I can pick a better team of Avengers for this week.  I do not have a lot of time to get this posted so this is going to be short write ups for this particular article.  Devin Singletary  (Rank # 19)  This week Devin Singletary will be facing ...

Week 6 Fantasy Avengers

Image
Week 6 is a do a or die week for a lot of owners, myself included. For several owners out there you may be staring at a 1-4 or god forbid a 0-5 start. This week acts like a playoff game for a lot teams, if you don't get the win this week, the road to the playoffs will become treacherous and nearly insurmountable. In order to get the win, you need to make the correct calls in nearly all your positions and you will also need a little luck. The week 6 fantasy Avengers are here to try and help you make the right call by placing them into your line up. As always there is TL;DR at the bottom of the article.  Andy Dalton (Fantasy Pros Rank 16)      Andy Dalton already has a kick ass super hero name in the Red Rifle, but this week he will be taking on the mantle of Captain America. Dalton is no stranger to fantasy football success, back in his early days as a Bengal, he was able to post low-end QB1 high-end QB2 numbers. He was able to do that in arguably a worse offens...
