Fantasy Football as described by Hollywood - Week 4

Fantasy Football as Described by Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story Hello everyone, I am back again after another awesome week of fantasy football. We are now a quarter of the way through most leagues fantasy seasons and if you started 0-4 or 1-3 now is the time to start making some moves. While most of your league may see you as a bye week, now is not the time to lose hope. For the next few weeks you will be considered the underdog, which is exactly how you want your opponent to think. While you are busy researching the best starts of the week, your opponent may just set and forget. This will open the door for more wins and an even sweeter comeback. This week, I wanted to find a movie that embodies the underdog, and that is the story we find inside Dodgeball. While the movie is hilariously stupid, the underlying story of David vs Goliath is exactly how some owners are feeling after this week. As always I will be breaking down a few of best and worse performances from the week as well

Fantasy Football as Described by Hollywood - Week 3

Image
Hello everyone, I am back again after taking a week off due to an illness. If this is your first time reading then allow me to fill you in. Each week I will select quotes from one popular movie that best describes what happened the week prior. This is just a fun little exercise to help digest everything that happened in the week and provide some levity before deep diving into next weeks match-ups. This weeks movie is Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. This movie is full of awesome quotes that I believe perfectly describe what went on in Week 3. I will preface this with saying there are a few Yoda quotes in here, because he has some of the best and most relevant lines.  Leia: "I love you" Han Solo: "I know" In this scene, Darth Vader is mere moments away from freezing the beloved protagonist Han Solo in carbonite. Right before he does this Leia professes her love to him. To me this perfectly describes what transpired in week 3 with Christian McCaffrey

Fantasy Football as Described by Hollywood - Week 1

Week 1 as described by Lord of the Rings and The Fellowship of the Ring Hello everyone, each week I plan on letting one movie describe the performances and reactions from the previous week. This week will be the first installment, and I could not think of a better movie than the epic first movie in the Lord of the Rings saga. The Fellowship of the Ring. I felt that this movie was perfect for week one. This movie signifies the beginning of a long and treacherous journey for a group of people who come together in the pursuit of a common goal. The same can be said for your fantasy football team, and even though these men didn't choose to take this journey with you, I know that you feel personally connected to each one of them. Please take all of these quotes with a grain of salt, because I am not providing analysis, but rather my thoughts on what happened. Please enjoy, and I hope to see you all next week.  "One does not simply walk into Mordor" - Boromir  This a blanket q

LOEG 2021 Keepers as described by Hollywood

Image
This year in lieu of researching players that won't ever end up on my team, I decided to let Hollywood describe everyone's keeper going into 2021. The players are listed in the order of our draft, some quotes are better than others, but I think all of them at least have something to do with each player.  ~ Travis Kelce ~ "I am inevitable" Nothing is more inevitable than Kelce being the TE1. He has only done it 5 years in a row, and is in line to do it again. This might have been the easiest player to describe, because if there are any guarantees in life its death, taxes, and Kelce as the tight end 1.  ~ Stefon Diggs ~ "You had my curiosity, now you have my attention" We were all curious if Stefon Diggs could make it as an elite receiver, but after his year in Buffalo he now has the whole fantasy world looking at him. Diggs always had the talent and the ability to make it as a top 5 receiver, but he didn't have the right set of circumstances. Now after j

Week 14 Fantasy Avengers

Image
Hey everyone, I am back again after a two week hiatus. I am excited to be writing again, not only for my small fan base, but also to help you in a week 14 playoff match-up. If you read my week 11 article you probably remember that it was my worst week of the season, as I missed pretty badly on all of my selections. I apologize to anyone who may have lost their match-up due to my advice. I will look to get back in your good graces this week with a brand new line up of players who can play a big role in your playoff success. If you missed playoffs in your league, be sure to still pay attention to all the games until the season is over. While other players in your league check out, the information you gather toward the end of the season can pay dividends come draft day next year. Good luck to everyone this week, and I hope all of you are back again next week ready to win your round 2 playoff game.  For those who are new to this article, I choose players who are ranked outside of the top

Week 11 Fantasy Avengers

Image
Hey everyone, I hope all of your teams secured victories in week 10, despite the failure of your week 10 fantasy avengers. Kalen Ballage was the only player who answered the call of Fantasy Avenger. Drew Lock, Brandin Cooks, and Jerick Mckinnon all finished well below their week 10 rank and its no surprise that all of their teams lost their real life games. Drew Lock looked like a deer in the headlights, throwing 4 interceptions to a team who only had three picks on the year. Mckinnon left the game early with a neck injury, but before that he wasn't getting much done on the ground, rushing for a meager 1.8 yards per carry. Brandin Cooks is the least disappointing of the three because while the targets were still there the weather played a huge factor which limited his upside.  With such a disappointing showing this past week, I will put a greater emphasis on weather games, especially when it comes to quarterbacks and receivers. I will also put more weight behind rushing defensive
